Clinicel Observations in 70 cases of Stomach Cancer


Abstract
Seventy cases of stomach cancer were reviewed for the purpose of the date for improving the result of stomach cancer pateints in the Jeonbug University Medical School during the period of Mar, 1976 to Feb, 1979.
The following results were obtaind ;
1. During this period, the incidence of stomach cancer was 3.7% among all surgical cases admitted to our department of surgery.
2. The ratio of male to female was 2.1 : 1 and peak incidence was in the aged group of 50 years.
3. The ratio of blood type A to 0 was 1.1 : 1
4. The most frequent complains were epigastric pain and indigestion.
5. The diagnostic accuracy of U.G.I. was 84.6% and accuracy of endoscopic examination was 90%.
6. Most Of the tumors (41%) were located at the antrum and 26% of siomach. cancers were located at the antrum and body of stomach.
7. Operations were performed 58 cases and in TO cases in 42 cases of resected cancr, there was one case of early Cancer and 41 cases were treated with radical or simple subtotal gastrectomy.
8. Postoperatively, most frequent complication was adhesive ileus.
